Blog / Our Plans for 2022

ShareYourself had an incredible year of growth in 2021, and we plan on making 2022 even better. We have plans for new features and quality of life improvements for the platform that you can expect to see in 2022. To keep our community excited we want to share some of these improvements in this blog.

New landing page

This change was just recently made and is live on the site. We are excited with how this looks for the ShareYourself brand. In 2022 we plan on recreating some of these design elements throughout other parts of the site, so stay tuned for some visual updates.

Project Sharing Cards

This idea has been in the works for a while now and we cannot wait for this feature to be live on ShareYourself. Every project on the site will have an auto-generated card or E-flyer that you can share to other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Linkedin to help bring exposure to your project. These E-Flyers will have information about your project and a QR code that anyone can scan with a mobile device to send people directly to your project page. We hope this will make it easier for users to share their project and raise funds.

These flyers can also be downloaded to be used as print material for spreading awareness to your project.

Project Scoring

There are rough plans to implement a scoring system for projects on the site. Projects would be scored on a scale of 1-100 and the score would fluctuate depending on a number of different factors such as overall activity, qualitative data, quantitative data, project SDG, and project location. Project scoring is going to be very difficult to implement, but it will make a huge difference in how grant winners are chosen, and the quality of the projects on the platform.

Grant Competition

There are plans in place to host a larger grant competition on ShareYourself. This would involve multiple rounds in which the grant applicants will need to do more than just the basic grant application. Every round applicants' projects would be eliminated until one final round where a small pool of project creators each presents their idea on a live stream, the winner would be selected by guest judges and the ShareYourself team.

Project Reports

This feature is optional and mostly applies to grant recipients and those who wish to raise funds on the platform. The purpose of this feature is to give more transparency to anyone who finds your project when browsing the site or finding your project through a search engine.

Any project will have an option to fill out a project report to better provide information on how their project is doing. This feature will be similar to a project update, but it would be more comprehensive.  We hope that you are as excited about these new features coming to ShareYourself as we are! If you have any questions or even have any suggestions for features, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].

Quite an exciting line up of improvements. Although, I believe what makes ShareYourself unique is its simplicity. However, the project report is important and could be done in form of a storytelling format. Mitch you could provide a sample template for members to follow. Well done to you and your team and keep up the with the great job of empowering us to make a difference. God bless the ShareYourself team! - Bitebo Gogo February 8, 2022 1
