Matthew Boms is Director of Strategic Programs for Latin America. Based in Colombia, Matthew is responsible for Climate Reality strategy in South America, which includes programming, communications, fundraising and partnerships in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. In his previous role as International Manager, Matthew worked to support the international branches of the organization. Previously, he was Communications Manager for Communitas Coalition in New York, where he secured a goal for cities in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Matthew was a media producer for the Stakeholder Forum, and directed several press, radio and video projects at the United Nations. During this time, he consulted with regional governments in Argentina on technological investments for primary schools. Matthew also conducted socio-financial research for Usura Cero, the national microcredit program in Nicaragua. In his spare time, he practices Bhakti yoga and Vipassana meditation. He is an avid hockey player and cyclist. Matthew has a Master's degree in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics, and a degree in Development Studies from Hampshire College. He speaks Spanish and English fluently.
